The 25th edition of the National Basic Education Week (SNEB), focused on the theme "For a safe and conducive learning environment, the community is committed", this year dedicates a specific day to the New Initiative for the Humanistic Transformation of Education "School of Values" (NITHÉ).

This program, which integrates the values of resilience, civic-mindedness, citizenship, ethics, patriotism and social cohesion, aims to make schoolchildren into models of responsible citizens.

In connection with NITHÉ and the theme of this year's Basic Education Week, Tafsir Baba Anne, the Deputy Governor of Matam in charge of development, asked students, teachers, and the educational community to draw inspiration from the positive values conveyed by the Lions during the AFCON-Morocco-2025. He took the opportunity to commend the unity, patriotism, and cohesion of the Senegalese players who shone thanks to their commitment and determination.

Presiding over the launch ceremony of the activities, the authority judged, in front of education stakeholders, that the behavior of the Lions during this competition offers a reference for the construction of republican values in schools.

“By drawing inspiration from the positive values promoted by the Lions, we can instill in our children good civic behavior, both at school and in life,” he stated. He then called upon the educational community to rally around civic values, citizenship, and cohesion, which play a fundamental role in shaping the citizens of tomorrow.

Emphasizing the safety and development of students as a collective responsibility, the deputy governor called for everyone's commitment to making the school a place that offers a safe and structured environment for quality teaching and learning.
