Réussite au bac général (1er tour) : le classement par région
Senegal recorded a 26.45% pass rate in the first round of the 2026 general baccalaureate exams. Of the 172,443 candidates who sat the exam, 45,614 passed outright. The Baccalaureate Office, which released these statistics reported by Le Soleil, also indicated that 55,135 candidates for the first university diploma have been declared eligible. The results of the second round are likely to raise the national score.
According to the Baccalaureate Office, the Dakar regional education authority achieved the best results in the first round. Of the 14,515 candidates it presented, 5,850 passed outright, representing 40.30%. The top three is completed, in order, by Diourbel (30.85%) and Louga (30.29%).
Just outside the top three is the Rufisque inspection (29.74%), followed by Kédougou (29.08%). Next come the academies of Pikine/Guédiawaye (28.32%), Thiès (26.54%), Matam (24.66%), Fatick (23.91%), Saint-Louis (23.75%), Kaolack (22.57%), Tamba (20.14%), Kaffrine (19.21%), Kolda (18.92%), Ziguinchor (18.08%) and Sédhiou (17.94%).
According to the Baccalaureate Office, these disparities highlight "the challenges that the education system continues to face in terms of territorial equity, educational support and learning conditions".
