«Sujets pas étudiés en classe» : des lycéens se rebiffent
The social climate has deteriorated sharply in several high schools in the Dakar suburbs, where a student protest has paralyzed classes. According to Les Echos, the Limamou Laye (Pikine-Guédiawaye), Yeumbeul, Malika, and Dabakh Malick high schools are affected. This situation is all the more concerning as final-year students were in the middle of their standardized exams and assessments, which have now been postponed, the newspaper points out.
The strikers refuse to be the sacrificial lambs
Quoted in the daily newspaper, high school students refuse to be collateral victims of the teachers' intermittent strikes. They denounce a double penalty: the reduction in class hours due to the work stoppages, and exam questions designed by the regional education authority that sometimes cover topics not taught in class. This situation, they argue, jeopardizes their chances of success and disrupts the school calendar.
Les Échos calls on the authorities to take stock of the problem and provide a definitive solution.

Les enseignants ne font que vous montrer la voie à suivre. La vérité c’est que les élèves deviennent de plus en plus paresseux de nos jours. Ils s’attendent à ce que tout leur soit servi sur un plateau d’argent.
