UGB : Le CROUS annonce la Fermeture des campus sociaux, ce dimanche
In a tense climate marked by a 48-hour student strike and discontent among the teaching staff, the Management of the Regional Center for University Works of Saint-Louis (CROUS) of Saint-Louis announces the definitive closure of the social campuses of the Gaston Berger University (UGB) starting this Sunday, August 10, 2025, after breakfast.
This decision follows the Academic Council's resolution to cease all face-to-face teaching activities as of Saturday, August 9, 2025.
It is also part of the disinfection and maintenance operations scheduled during university holidays according to the administration.
The CROUS asks all residents to vacate their rooms without leaving any personal belongings there.
Let us recall that the Coordination of Students of Saint-Louis (CESL) declared a strike on Monday, August 4, disrupting the progress of exams by entering rooms and seizing copies.
In response to this incident, teachers also declared a strike, strongly denouncing these acts which they consider unacceptable, and demanding an immediate return to order and respect for academic rules.
