UN-CHK : Renouvellement de confiance pour les Vice-Recteurs Ousmane Sall et Jean-Louis Corréa
The Cheikh Hamidou Kane Digital University (UN-CHK) officially announced the re-election of its two vice-rectors on December 26, 2025. Professor Ousmane Sall and Professor Jean-Louis Corréa were indeed re-elected by their peers for a second term, thus demonstrating a commitment to continuity within the university.
The UN-CHK electoral commission announced – via a press release – the final results of an electoral process that confirms the strength of the university's executive. This vote, which took place at the end of the year, reflects the "recognition of the work accomplished" by the two academic leaders during their first term.
Running unopposed for re-election, Professor Ousmane Sall was unanimously re-elected. A tenured professor at the CAMES (African and Malagasy Council for Higher Education) and a recognized expert in the semantic web, he retains his position as Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation, and Partnerships. A respected, albeit discreet, researcher, Professor Sall is the driving force behind numerous interdisciplinary research projects. His current work focuses on strategic sectors such as artificial intelligence (AI), health, agronomy, road accident prediction, and the empowerment of fact-checking.
Under the authority of the Rector, his mission will be to continue the deployment of research policies and to "coordinate the activities of the Innovation and Expertise Hub".
Professor Jean-Louis Corréa was also reappointed as Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs. His role remains crucial for a digital university whose model is based on high-quality, distance learning.
Professor Jean-Louis Corréa, a tenured professor of law, is a renowned legal expert whose work and insights are considered authoritative both nationally and internationally. A member of several ministerial working groups on digital technology and e-commerce, he is notably the initiator of the Legaltech Bachelor's degree, an innovative program combining law and ICT. Professor Corréa also chairs the Scientific Committee of Séraphin Legal, a leading French Legaltech studio, and is a member of the Institute for Fundamental Digital Rights (IDFrights Paris).
The renewal of this duo's mandate at the head of UN-CHK is not just an electoral victory. By relying on the expertise of these two academic figures, the institution reaffirms its ambition to remain a leader in digital education in Senegal and the sub-region.
For this second term, the challenges remain significant: strengthening international partnerships and adapting the educational offering to the rapid changes in the digital job market.
