Université Gaston Berger : Les étudiants décrétent 48 heures sans tickets
The Coordination of Students of Saint-Louis (CESL) has decreed 48 hours without tickets, as a sign of protest, intended to draw the authorities' attention to the situation of student allowances.
Through this action, the CESL is making two major demands: the full payment of back pay owed to eligible beneficiaries. An issue which, according to the students, remains unresolved despite numerous appeals.
Next, the coordination demands the maintenance of the gains until a concerted revision of decree n°2014-963 relating to study allowances, deemed unsuitable to the current realities of the university environment.
Student leaders believe that any reform affecting the social conditions of students must be done within an inclusive framework, involving all stakeholders, in order to preserve stability and social justice within universities.
While reaffirming the legitimacy of their demands, the Saint-Louis Student Coordination reiterates its commitment and availability for dialogue, stressing that this mobilization is exclusively in defense of the student cause and respect for students' rights.
