Crise universitaire : le Forum du justiciable interpelle l’État
Amidst tensions and demands, Senegalese universities are experiencing periods of friction that are worrying society. Babacar Ba, President of the Forum of the Justiciable of Senegal, is sounding the alarm and calling for swift action in a post on his social media account.
“Mr. President of the Republic, an urgent solution is needed to the students’ problems before irreparable harm is done,” he wrote. He believes it is essential that law enforcement respect university autonomy, thereby guaranteeing the safety and independence of campuses.
But the appeal is not limited to the authorities; Babacar Ba also invites students to restraint and dialogue, stressing that consultation remains the best way to avoid conflicts and excesses.
The Forum of the Justice System in Senegal emphasizes that managing university tensions is a societal issue requiring vigilance, responsibility, and mutual respect. Given that student tensions can spill over beyond campuses, the organization advocates for a balance between student rights, law enforcement intervention, and social mediation.
