A family tragedy of rare violence has shaken the commune of Khossonto, in the department of Saraya, region of Kédougou.

Mr. Dagnokho, aged 28 and a gold miner by profession, is accused of murdering his two biological children before hiding their bodies in a mine shaft.

A false missing person report

It all started on February 5, 2026, when Mr. Dagnokho came forward to investigators to report the disappearance of his two children: Mamady, 3 years old, and Sadio, about 10 years old.

According to his initial version of events, the children were supposed to go to the market to buy toys, but never returned to the family home.

The investigation unmasks the murderer

The investigation launched by the Khossonto Territorial Brigade quickly focused suspicion on the man who made the statement himself. Confronted with the incriminating evidence gathered by investigators, Mr. Dagnokho finally confessed to the double murder, according to exclusive information obtained by Seneweb.

He then led the police to the crime scene, revealing that he had thrown his own children into a gold mine approximately 30 meters deep. The lifeless bodies of the two children were found in an advanced state of decomposition. According to the autopsy results, their deaths resulted from head trauma.

Motive for the crime: marital jealousy

According to Mr. Dagnokho's confession, his actions stemmed from a marital crisis. His wife had left home following a violent argument fueled by jealousy. He suspected his wife of infidelity, which allegedly triggered a spiral of violence that culminated in the double murder.

Mr. Dagnokho was brought before the High Court of Kédougou on Tuesday, where he will face charges of murdering his biological children. The prosecutor will request a judicial inquiry, according to our sources close to the prosecutor's office.
