TTE CONTRE LE TRAFIC DE DROGUE : PLUS DE 500 KG DE CHANVRE INDIEN ET DU HASCHISCH SAISIS PAR LA GENDARMERIE
As part of its operations to combat drug trafficking, the units of the National Gendarmerie carried out several actions during the week which led to significant results.
The Gendarmerie announced that during a security patrol, officers from the Dakar Research Brigade apprehended a suspicious-looking individual. A search revealed a bag containing 16 packets of hashish and four ecstasy tablets concealed in his pockets. Following questioning, he was taken into custody for drug trafficking and distribution.
Furthermore, the Fimela Territorial Brigade, after receiving information about an Indian hemp trafficking network in the village of Pethie Makha, carried out an operation on the premises on Monday, November 17, 2025. The gendarmes were able to seize 19 packages of Indian hemp, for a total weight of 580 kilograms.
But the couriers managed to escape after a long chase.
The Gendarmerie is continuing its investigations in order to find the fugitives.
