Meurtre à Bango : une soirée alcoolisée vire au drame, l’autopsie infirme la thèse de la chute accidentelle et accable les suspects
In the Bango district of Saint-Louis, a case initially presented as an "accidental fall from a terrace" took a criminal turn. Occurring after a night of drinking on the night of April 3-4, it led to the arrest of two men, one of whom identified himself as a telecommunications engineer, for murder and complicity.
At 2:59 a.m. on the night of the incident, according to L'Observateur, B. Ousseyne contacted S. Lô Mbengue, a sales consultant and trainer, to confess to having "violently fought" with the victim, C. Kâ, before changing his story a few hours later. He then tried to claim it was "a simple fainting spell that led to a fall from the terrace," asserting that he himself had fallen while trying to catch his friend.
The autopsy ordered by investigators at the Idrissa Pouye General Hospital in Grand Yoff, Dakar, refutes this version of events. The conclusions of the forensic pathologist, Dr. MA Diallo, are damning. The report describes a "hemorrhagic shock secondary to blunt thoracoabdominal trauma," revealing extremely severe injuries: "multiple liver wounds," "massive hemoperitoneum," and several rib fractures. Experts deemed these injuries inconsistent with a simple accidental fall.
Furthermore, according to the newspaper of the Future Media Group, the suspect's denials were quickly undermined by phone records, which confirmed the existence of the nighttime calls. Faced with these inconsistencies and the seriousness of the facts, B. Ousseyne was taken into custody for murder. Alongside him, A. Niane, the property owner and present at the time of the events, is being prosecuted for complicity in murder.
In Bango, "the tragedy has given way to doubt" and the investigation continues to reconstruct the whole truth behind this tragic night.
