Mystical baths, mysterious tea…: “bewitched”, a driver loses 2 million CFA francs, his car and an eye
A driver named MA Ndiaye has sued his marabout, A. Diallo, for charlatanism and fraud in the Mbour High Court. The victim, who wanted to mystically increase his fortune, claims to have lost everything because of the accused.
According to L'Observateur, the affair began in August 2024 in Nguekhokh. After regaining her health thanks to the marabout's potions, or so she believes, the driver's wife recommended his services to develop her business. Intrigued, MA Ndiaye allegedly gave A. Diallo over one million CFA francs for "mystical baths."
But these practices reportedly caused him a serious eye infection: he claims to have partially lost his vision. He had to interrupt the treatment to see an ophthalmologist.
Still obsessed with the idea of becoming rich, the newspaper continues, he went back to see A. Diallo, who this time expressed interest in his car. Summoned to Kaolack to finalize the sale, Mr. Ndiaye claims he was "bewitched" after drinking tea offered by Diallo. He leaves, according to him, without the vehicle and without the money from the sale. In total, he estimates his losses at over 2 million CFA francs.
When questioned, A. Diallo reportedly partially admitted to certain facts during the police investigation, before denying everything in court. The victim, who still suffers from vision problems, is demanding the return of his car and a full refund. The public prosecutor has called for the strict application of the law.
The court has reserved its verdict. The decision is expected next Tuesday, December 9, adds the newspaper of the Future Media Group.

Et ce même principe s’applique aussi à l’argent : tout comme nous ne devons pas chercher des solutions spirituelles ailleurs que chez Dieu, nous ne devons pas faire de l’argent notre sécurité principale.
