Notto Diobass : I. Sène poursuivi pour vol de poulets
The court examined a case of broiler chicken theft between I. Sène and M. Ciss, owner of a poultry farm in Notto Diobass. In court, the plaintiff claimed to have caught the defendant stealing his chickens in the middle of the night.
According to his statements, I. Sène had already filled two bags before fleeing. Sandals were found at the scene of the theft. "This was the third time he had broken into my farm to steal my chickens," he maintained in court.
For his part, the defendant formally denied the charges, calling the accusations baseless. He stated that the sandals found at the scene did not belong to him and that he had never stolen chickens.
The sandals were presented in court. It then became apparent that they did not correspond to the defendant's shoe size, a detail that raised doubts in the court's mind.
Considering the facts insufficiently established, despite the requests of the public prosecutor who had asked for the application of the law, the judge finally acquitted I. Sène on the grounds of reasonable doubt.
