Nouveau-né abandonné dans le salon d'une dame à Touba : Sa mère identifiée avoue son acte à la police
There's a new development in the case of the newborn abandoned in the living room of a woman in her sixties in the Gouy-Mbind neighborhood of Touba on January 23, 2026, and placed in the care of the Mame Diarra orphanage in Touba. The baby's mother has finally been identified after confessing to her grandmother, O. Diagne. The grandmother then reported the matter to the Gouy-Mbind police station. The mother is 21-year-old FK Dieng.
The requisition dated January 31, 2026, addressed to the director of the Ndamatou hospital, concluded that Miss Dieng had recently given birth according to Seneweb sources.
When questioned briefly, she admitted to being the baby's mother and that she had managed to hide her pregnancy before giving birth alone on the night of Friday, January 23, 2026.
She also stated that she then left the baby with her grandmother O. Diagne, convinced that the latter would take good care of the newborn.
Having been informed of the facts, the prosecutor instructed the police to forward the case file to him as a judicial inquiry. FK Dieng remains free.
