Police des HLM : du faux à 25 000 F CFA, le réseau démantelé
The Directorate of File Automation (DAF) dismantled a document fraud network and handed over two suspects to the Dakar Urban Security (SU). They are A. Guèye, 20 years old, and A. Sow, 33 years old.
According to initial findings of the investigation, as reported by Libération, Guèye attempted to obtain a National Identity Card (CNI) using a forged birth certificate. When questioned, he admitted to the crime and revealed that he had the complicity of Sow, who delivered letters to the CNI office at the HLM police station.
The fraudulent service was allegedly billed to him at a rate of 25,000 CFA francs, according to the same source.
The newspaper adds that the two suspects are currently in police custody on charges of forgery and use of forged documents, improperly obtaining administrative documents, and complicity. The investigation is ongoing to determine the exact extent of the network.
