Pout : surpris en train de violer un garçon de 13 ans, un apprenti chauffeur risque 10 ans de réclusion criminelle
A 25-year-old apprentice driver appeared before the criminal chamber of the Thiès High Court on Monday, March 9. He is being prosecuted for rape and unnatural acts against a 13-year-old minor.
The defendant, identified as T. Sow and originally from Louga, is accused of having abused the young E. Dia, who is none other than the son of his employer, on three occasions. The events, which date back to September 2023, took place in the field belonging to the victim's grandfather, located in the town of Pout.
According to the indictment, T. Sow was allegedly caught in the act by the child's grandfather. The grandfather explained to the court that he went to the location after noticing that his grandson was late returning home. "I went to look for him. In the field, I heard his cries. When I approached, I caught T. Sow on top of him. He had undressed the child. The child was trying to lift him up, but couldn't. When T. Sow sensed my presence, he ran away, pulling up his pants," he stated during his testimony.
In court, the accused categorically denied the charges against him, claiming a conspiracy orchestrated by the victim's grandfather. "These are false accusations. I was arrested at my home and taken to the police station. The child's grandfather is my enemy," he argued in his defense.
When confronted by the presiding judge with the fact that he had initially admitted the facts to the investigators as well as to the investigating judge, T. Sow retorted that he had been forced to confess under pressure.
The public prosecutor dismissed the conspiracy theory, stating that the defendant's guilt was beyond doubt. The magistrate highlighted the findings of the medical certificate included in the case file, which attested to anal trauma and actual penetration. Considering the seriousness of the crime and the victim's age, the prosecution requested a 10-year prison sentence for T. Sow.
The court has taken the case under advisement. The judgment will be delivered on April 13, 2026.
