L'OCRTIS démantèle un réseau international : De l'ecstasy dissimulée dans du chocolat à Touba à destination de l'Italie
The Dakar Regional Narcotics Brigade (BRS), under the Central Office for the Repression of Illicit Drug Trafficking (OCRTIS), arrested six individuals involved in an ecstasy trafficking network between Senegal and Italy.
These arrests followed the exploitation of operational intelligence regarding a suspicious package. According to information gathered by intelligence services, this package, concealed in a chocolate jar and originating from Touba, was destined for Italy. A joint operation was conducted by the Diourbel BRS (Brigade de Recherche et de Sécurité - Research and Investigation Brigade) and the Mbacké anti-corruption unit, which apprehended the six individuals.
Upon opening the suspicious package, investigators discovered 30 ecstasy pills packaged in a sachet and concealed inside the chocolate jar. This concealment technique demonstrates the organized nature of this international trafficking network.
In addition to the narcotics, law enforcement seized a Peugeot 406 vehicle, a Jakarta motorcycle, six mobile phones, and an unspecified sum of money.
The six perpetrators have been taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing to determine the extent of this international trafficking network and to identify any accomplices both in Senegal and abroad.
