Thiaroye : une septuagénaire à la tête d’une expédition punitive sanglante
At 75, K. Sène was brought before the prosecutor's office on particularly serious charges, including "criminal conspiracy, attempted murder, complicity, and armed robbery committed at night." Despite her advanced age, she is suspected of having orchestrated a violent attack against a 27-year-old man.
According to Libération's account, the events date back to the night of April 8th in the Saliou Ndir neighborhood of Thiaroye. The victim, S. Ndiaye, was intercepted and brutally attacked with bricks. Left unconscious with serious head injuries, the young man was then robbed of 18,000 FCFA, a cell phone, and a ring.
The investigation revealed that the 70-year-old woman was the instigator of this revenge attack. She accused the victim of allegedly stealing two sheep. To settle the score, K. Ndiaye reportedly mobilized a five-person commando, including her own son, O. Ndiaye, alias "Seikh bi," a notorious repeat offender, as well as a man known as "Serère."
While Khady Sène was arrested shortly after the incident, her accomplices initially managed to escape. However, the manhunt continued: on May 6th, the Criminal Investigation Brigade apprehended B. Niang, known as "Sérère" (28 years old). During his interrogation, he attempted to downplay his responsibility by pointing the finger at the elderly woman's son as the main perpetrator of the assault, before being taken into custody.
The investigation continues to find the other members of the gang who are still on the run, the same source added.
