Trafic de drogue : les deux sœurs de 50 ans et les kilos de cocaïne
A case involving international cocaine trafficking, involving Kh. Diallo and T. Diallo, two sisters in their fifties, the son of one of them, and a Nigerian national, was heard this Tuesday before the Criminal Court of Dakar. The investigation, launched in 2023 by the OCRTIS (Central Office for the Repression of Illicit Drug Trafficking), concerns the seizure of a total of 12 kg of cocaine between The Gambia and Senegal, reports L'Observateur.
According to the same source, the two sisters were arrested in the Parcelles Assainies district as they got off a bus from Gambia, each concealing 1 kg of cocaine in their lower abdomen. They admitted to acting on behalf of NA Agu, T. Diallo's lover, in exchange for 100,000 CFA francs each, citing their financial hardship while claiming to be unaware of the true nature of the drugs.
The arrest of the two women led to the arrest of I. Guèye, the son of T. Diallo, who had come to pick them up at the garage, the newspaper of the Groupe Futurs Médias (GFM) continues. The newspaper adds that a subsequent search uncovered another kilogram of drugs in his vehicle, bringing the total, along with other seizures linked to the network, to 12 kg in this case.
At the hearing, L'Observateur reports, the prosecutor requested a 10-year prison sentence for the Nigerian national NA Agu (who was arrested five years later in Kaolack), emphasizing that his criminal record did not work in his favor. Regarding the Diallo sisters, the prosecutor deferred to the court's judgment, believing they had been manipulated. As for the son, I. Guèye, the prosecutor requested an acquittal, unconvinced of his conscious involvement, arguing that he had simply obeyed his mother.
The defense argued for a general acquittal, maintaining that the defendants believed they were transporting legal goods. The court will deliver its verdict on March 24, 2026, according to Gfm.
