Le Président de la République lance les travaux de réparation de la route Ziguinchor-Cap Skirring et Oussouye-Elinkine
The Ziguinchor-Cap Skirring road is about to undergo a major transformation. This road has deteriorated in places. The President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, has launched the works on the Ziguinchor-Cap Skirring and Oussouye-Elinkine sections.
During the meetings the Head of State held with elected officials and his political counterparts in the area, he was informed that some road improvement work had been carried out before his arrival. The President emphasized the need to rebuild these roads, particularly the Ziguinchor-Cap Skirring route.
"The time has come for us to work on repairing the road. In the meantime, a much more ambitious rehabilitation will be undertaken, one that corresponds to the scope of the role we want to give this road in terms of opening up the region, but also and especially in terms of its usability. For this first phase, these maintenance and repair works, the budget is estimated at 10 billion CFA francs to allow time to carry out studies and work on budgetary sustainability that will allow us to assess and undertake the complete rehabilitation of this road," declared the Head of State.
