Une Suédoise reconnaît son violeur dans les fichiers Epstein
She saw in the revealed documents the photo of the man who abused her in Cannes in the 1990s.
A 56-year-old Swedish woman filed a complaint Tuesday in Paris, claiming to have recognized, in a photo found in the Epstein files, a man she accuses of rape in the 1990s, AFP learned from a source close to the case.
Ebba Karlson accuses Daniel S., whom she met in Sweden, of bringing her to Monaco and then to France, promising her a modeling career, according to a complaint filed with the Paris prosecutor's office and seen by AFP. She accuses him of then raping her in the pool room of a house in Cannes, before taking her to Gérald Marie, a former director of the Elite modeling agency.
She filed a rape complaint in 2020 against Gérald Marie, but the case was dismissed due to the statute of limitations. However, she did not file a complaint against Daniel S. because she did not know his identity.
Thirty-six years later, she claims to have recognized him in photos released by the US Department of Justice as part of the Epstein case. Her boyfriend at the time, who had met Daniel S., also claims to have recognized him. Daniel S.'s name appears in numerous exchanges with Jeffrey Epstein published by the Department of Justice and reviewed by AFP.
"Ms. Karlsson wants the Paris prosecutor's office to take up her complaint in order to allow an investigation into acts of rape and human trafficking, intended to analyze Daniel S.'s modus operandi, to determine if these acts are repeated, to shed light on a functioning and, if necessary, to identify possible victims of acts not time-barred," said her lawyer, Anne-Claire Lejeune, contacted by AFP.
The suspect could not be reached immediately by AFP.
