Foot US: la star de NFL Rashee Rice accusé de violences répétées sur sa compagne enceinte
Rashee Rice, the American football star who won the 2024 Super Bowl with Kansas, is accused by his former girlfriend of repeated violence over 18 months while she was pregnant.
American football player Rashee Rice, who won the NFL championship with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024, has been accused of repeated violence against his ex-girlfriend while she was pregnant, according to a civil lawsuit filed this week in Dallas, Texas. The 25-year-old player's former partner accuses him of repeated abuse over 18 months, between 2023 and 2025, and is seeking $1 million in damages for "severe and permanent injuries."
"Many of these acts took place while Ms. Jones was pregnant."
"Rice grabbed, choked, strangled, pushed, threw, scratched, punched, and headbutted Ms. Jones, also hitting her with objects," the complaint states, which also lists "objects being thrown," "property destruction," and nighttime confinements. "Many of these acts occurred while Ms. Jones was pregnant," it continues. The plaintiff had previously posted photos of herself with a bloody lip, scratches, and bruises in a now-deleted Instagram post, without naming any potential abuser.
Mr. Rice's lawyer told ESPN that Ms. Jones had already written a sworn statement that the player did not hit her. "We will let the process run its course and not add any further comment at this time," he concluded. An NFL spokesperson told AFP that the matter was "under review." The Kansas City Chiefs did not respond to a request for comment. Ms. Jones has two children with Mr. Rice, a talented wide receiver who won the 2024 Super Bowl after his rookie season.
