Angleterre : Un jeune Sénégalais de 16 ans poignardé à mort
A 16-year-old Senegalese boy, Baye Birame Fall, was brutally stabbed to death in Peterborough, in eastern England. Initial reports indicate that the teenager was attacked in violent circumstances by a group of teenagers, both boys and girls, armed with knives.
Described as particularly brutal, the "savage" attack, which took place on Sunday, April 12, around 7 p.m., in the middle of the street near the well-known Ortongate shopping center in the Riseholme district, deeply shocked the local community. The victim did not survive his injuries despite the intervention of emergency services.
The initial findings of the investigation, launched by British authorities to find the perpetrators of the tragedy, have led to the arrest of a 15-year-old boy, an 18-year-old man, and two girls aged 17 and 16. All the suspects are from the town where the tragedy occurred. Cambridgeshire Police maintain that "nothing, at this stage of the investigation, suggests that the act was racially motivated."
Shocked by the tragedy, the Senegalese diaspora community is calling for justice and security. This tragedy has reignited concerns about youth-related violence abroad. According to a source close to the investigation, "the young man identified as having inflicted the fatal blows on Baye Birame Fall had posted a video in which he claimed responsibility for the crime, proudly stating: 'I killed a Black man.'"
