Argentine : Elle veut prendre une photo depuis une falaise et fait une chute fatale de 25 mètres

The 33-year-old journalist was at a tourist site popular for its breathtaking ocean views.

A 33-year-old woman tragically died last Wednesday in Argentina. The journalist was visiting the Barranca de Los Lobos site in Mar del Plata with relatives when she fell to her death, according to La Nacion. Leticia Lembi accidentally plunged more than 25 meters from a cliff.

According to the investigation, the Argentinian woman was trying to take a photo from a popular tourist spot known for its breathtaking view but lost her balance. Her fall was fatal. Emergency services, deployed in large numbers to the scene, were unable to save Leticia Lembi, who suffered a head injury and multiple fractures after hitting a rock face.

A dilapidated staircase

The area where the tragedy unfolded suffers from a severe lack of maintenance, despite being heavily frequented. The site lacks safety barriers and warning signs, according to A24. "There are no signs indicating the danger to pedestrians in this area," the prosecutor pointed out.

Leticia Lembi was on a vast, dilapidated staircase running along the cliffs. Authorities believe the journalist's fall was not directly related to the structure's erosion.

In 2021, a previous accident occurred in the same area, near Playa Serena. A 35-year-old woman walking on the beach also fell 25 meters but survived. She was seriously injured.
