The US president indicated that he had signed an executive order to impose a new 10% global tariff that "will take effect almost immediately." Donald Trump had announced earlier in the day that he would sign an executive order to impose a new global tariff to replace the "reciprocal" tariffs imposed last April, but struck down on Friday by the Supreme Court.

"It is a great honor for me to have signed, from the Oval Office, a 10% global tariff applicable to all countries, which will take effect almost immediately," the US president wrote on his Truth Social network.
