Essonne : un policier de la DGSI se suicide avec son arme de service

A police officer from the General Directorate for Internal Security (DGSI) committed suicide on Monday in Essonne "on a site of the Ministry of the Interior", the Evry prosecutor's office told AFP.
"From the initial information gathered, it appears that the man committed suicide with his service weapon," the source stated.
The prosecutor's office has not yet provided further details regarding the location or circumstances of the civil servant's death. The incident occurred on Monday morning.
A magistrate went to the scene and an investigation into the cause of death was opened. According to figures from the Ministry of the Interior, 27 police officers and 26 gendarmes committed suicide in 2024.
