Etats-Unis : Un dresseur tué par son tigre en pleine représentation
Ryan Easley, 37, was fatally attacked by a tiger at Growler Pines Tiger Preserve in southeastern Oklahoma, in front of his wife, daughter, and the public watching.
Tragedy struck last Saturday in southeastern Oklahoma when a tiger attacked and killed its trainer during a performance. Ryan Easley, 37, was fatally injured while in a large cage with the animal at the Growler Pines Tiger Preserve, near the town of Hugo and the Texas border.
According to the sheriff, quoted by NBC News, the tiger suddenly bit and violently shook its victim in front of the spectators. The trainer's wife and daughter were also watching the performance. Emergency services arrived within minutes of the alert, but the trainer was already dead.
A "tragic reminder" of the "beauty" and "unpredictability of nature"
In a statement, the park paid tribute to Easley, recalling that he had a bond "made of respect and love" with the tigers in his care. "This tragedy is a painful reminder of both the beauty and the unpredictability of the natural world. Ryan knew these risks, not out of recklessness, but out of love. The animals in his care were not just animals to him, but beings with whom he had formed a bond, based on respect, daily attention and affection," the park said.
