Gaza: 11 morts dans des frappes israéliennes, selon le ministère de la Santé
Israeli airstrikes killed eleven people in the Gaza Strip on Saturday, the Hamas government's health ministry said.
They come against the backdrop of a fragile truce in the Palestinian territory between Israel and the Palestinian Islamist movement, who accuse each other of violating it.
The Director General of the Ministry of Health, Mounir Albourche, told AFP that 11 people had been killed and 20 injured "following strikes carried out by the occupation (Israel, editor's note) targeting civilians in a tent and an apartment."
Israel "continues its serious violations of the ceasefire agreement amid a severe shortage of medical supplies, medicines and medical equipment," he added.
The injured were admitted to the hospital in Gaza City, in the north of the territory, as well as in Khan Younis, in the south.
In a separate statement, the Hamas government press office specified that the strike against a tent sheltering displaced people had killed seven members of the same family, including a child and an elderly person.
Almost all of the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip have been displaced at least once during the more than two years of war, and hundreds of thousands of people still live in tents or makeshift shelters.
According to the Hamas government, 509 people have been killed by Israeli fire or bombing since the start of the ceasefire, which came into effect on October 10 under pressure from the United States.
The war in Gaza was triggered by Hamas' unprecedented attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
This attack resulted in the deaths of 1,221 people on the Israeli side, mostly civilians, according to an AFP tally based on official data.
At least 71,769 Palestinians have been killed in the small coastal territory by the Israeli military campaign of reprisal, according to the Ministry of Health.
