Gaza : 20 morts dans une frappe israélienne sur l’hôpital Nasser, dont 5 journalistes, MSF dénonce une attaque ‘’horrible’’
An Israeli airstrike hit the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip, on Monday, August 25. The strike killed at least 20 people, including five journalists and several medical staff. This attack was strongly condemned by Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), which accused Israel of "flouting international law" by targeting a vital medical facility.
Recalling that Nasser was one of the last partially operational hospitals in southern Gaza, Israel confirmed the strike, spoke of suspicious targets, and announced an investigation.
According to initial reports, the strike targeted the fourth floor of the hospital, which was used as a press and observation point, before being followed a few minutes later by a second explosion, hitting rescue workers and journalists who had come to help the injured. The victims included reporters from Reuters, AI Jazeera, AP, as well as medical workers and a civil defense rescuer.
As Gaza's hospitals struggle to function, this attack highlights the collapse of the health system and the urgent need for a ceasefire to protect civilians, journalists, and medical personnel.
