Giorgia Meloni visée par une plainte à la CPI pour complicité de génocide à Gaza

The complaint was drafted by a group calling itself "Lawyers and Lawyers for Palestine" and was signed by about fifty people, including law professors, lawyers, and several public figures.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced on the evening of Tuesday, October 7, that a complaint for "complicity in genocide" against her and two ministers has been filed with the International Criminal Court (ICC) because of Rome's support for Israel (ICC).

"I, Minister Crosetto (Guido, Defense Minister), Minister Tajani (Antonio, head of diplomacy) and I believe Leonardo's CEO, Roberto Cingolani, have been the subject of a complaint before the International Criminal Court for complicity in genocide," she said during a television broadcast that will be broadcast around midnight local time and excerpts of which have been published by the media.

"The Italian government was complicit in the genocide"

"I don't think there is another case in the world or in history of a complaint of this kind," she added. Leonardo is an Italian aeronautics and defense group.

The complaint, dated October 1, was drafted by a group calling itself "Lawyers and Lawyers for Palestine" and was signed by about fifty people, including law professors, lawyers, and several public figures.

"With its support for the Israeli government, particularly through the supply of deadly weapons, the Italian government has become complicit in the ongoing genocide and the grave war crimes and crimes against humanity committed against the Palestinian population," the authors of the complaint write.

They are asking the ICC to consider opening a formal investigation into their complaint.
