Donald Trump clearly respects no one, not even Pope Leo XIV. Last Sunday, the American president attacked the pontiff, accusing him of being "weak on crime and catastrophic on foreign policy." He also believes that the American is "playing games with a country that wants to acquire nuclear weapons."

"Stop! It's time to make peace! Sit down at the table for dialogue."

The Republican billionaire clearly did not appreciate the speech given by the Pope during the prayer vigil for peace at St. Peter's Basilica in Rome on Saturday.

The successor of Saint Peter had indeed called for an end to war in the world. “Enough of the idolatry of self and money! Enough of displays of force! Enough of war! True strength is manifested in serving life. Dear brothers and sisters, there are certainly imperative responsibilities incumbent upon the leaders of nations. To them we cry out: Stop! It is time to make peace! Sit down at the table of dialogue and mediation, and not at the table where rearmament is planned and murderous actions are decided!” the Pope had declared.

Iran strongly condemns the attacks by the American president against the Pope.

"The desecration of Jesus (peace be upon him), the prophet of peace and brotherhood, is unacceptable for…"

In a message posted on X, the president of the Islamic Republic, Masoud Pezeshkian, defended the Pope, accusing his American counterpart of desecrating Jesus.

"In the name of the great Iranian nation, I condemn the insult to your person and declare that the desecration of Jesus (peace be upon him), the prophet of peace and brotherhood, is not acceptable for any free man," the Iranian leader wrote.

It must be said that Trump accompanied his diatribe against the Pope with an AI-generated image showing him in a white and red robe, placing his hand on the forehead of a sick man in a hospital bed.

The pontiff has already made it known that he is not afraid of the Trump administration and that he does not intend to enter into a debate with the occupant of the White House.
