Guerre en Iran: les Américains appelés à quitter une douzaine de pays du Moyen-Orient
The State Department on Monday, March 2, urged American citizens to "depart now via commercial channels due to serious security risks."
The call comes from the State Department. Washington is urging American citizens on Monday, March 2, to leave more than a dozen Middle Eastern countries on the third day of the conflict between Iran, Israel and the United States.
"Depart now via commercial channels due to serious security risks," the State Department advises, according to a message posted on X by Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs Mora Namdar.
This appeal concerns Americans in Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the United Arab Emirates, Yemen, and Israel.
Earlier in the day, the US Embassy in Jordan announced it had temporarily evacuated its staff due to an unspecified threat on Monday "as a precautionary measure".
"Imminent attack on the US embassy according to its own estimates at 11 p.m. on March 2," the French embassy in Jordan relayed on its X account. "Keep your distance or, failing that, take shelter, especially away from windows."
The US embassy in Kuwait was struck by drones earlier today, three diplomatic sources told AFP. A Kuwait-based diplomat and a Western diplomat, speaking on condition of anonymity, indicated that the building had been damaged by several drones. A second Kuwait-based diplomat stated that the embassy building was directly hit during the attack.
The US embassy had warned the public not to enter its premises, cautioning against "a persistent threat of missiles and drone attacks over Kuwait".
