"2027 is definitely over for me." With these somber words, R&B singer Ray J addressed the health problems he is facing. During an Instagram Live broadcast on Tuesday, January 27, the former partner of Kim Kardashian revealed that he is suffering from serious heart problems.
"I messed up. I thought I could handle it better," the 45-year-old singer confessed, before reflecting on the excesses he may have indulged in during his career. "I thought I was tough, that I could handle all that alcohol, all those amphetamines, all those drugs, but I couldn't," he lamented.
HOSPITALIZED IN LAS VEGAS IN EARLY JANUARY
According to the singer, his heart is now functioning at only 25% of its capacity. "This is black. It's over," he said, pointing to his heart. In early January, the rapper was rushed to a Las Vegas hospital. He was experiencing chest pains and breathing difficulties, as reported by the American media outlet TMZ.
Born William Ray Norwood Jr., Ray J made a name for himself in music and television. His name, however, remains most closely associated with Kim Kardashian, with whom he shared his life for several years in the early 2000s.
