La CPI rejette les sanctions américaines contre ses responsables
On August 20, 2025, the International Criminal Court (ICC) expressed its firm opposition to the new sanctions imposed by Washington against some of its judges and deputy prosecutors. These measures come in addition to those already taken against the Prosecutor and four judges of the Court.
In a statement, the ICC denounced this as a serious attack on its independence and an affront to the 125 States parties to the Rome Statute, as well as to the millions of victims of international crimes it defends.
The international court assured that it will continue its work "without intimidation or discouragement." It called on States parties and defenders of the rule of law to resolutely support its work in favor of international justice.
