L'acteur Kiefer Sutherland (Jack Bauer) arrêté
Kiefer Sutherland, star of the series "24", was arrested Monday in Los Angeles for assaulting a rideshare driver, the city's police announced Tuesday.
The Canadian-British actor was arrested in the night from Sunday to Monday, shortly after midnight, according to a statement.
The officers "responded to a radio call regarding an assault involving a rideshare driver" on one of the major boulevards of the Californian metropolis, police explained.
They then established that the 59-year-old actor "had physically assaulted the driver (...) and had made criminal threats against him," which led to his arrest.
Mr. Sutherland was released a few hours later after posting $50,000 bail, according to records from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which manages jails in the area.
According to these public data, the actor is due to appear in court on February 2nd for this case.
When contacted by AFP, the artist's various representatives did not immediately respond.
The ride-hailing driver "did not suffer any injuries requiring medical attention at the scene," police said.
Kiefer Sutherland is primarily known for portraying Jack Bauer, the counter-terrorism agent in the series "24," which achieved fame in the 2000s.
He also played the President of the United States in the series "Designated Survivor". Among his best-known films are "The Lost Boys" (1987), "Stand By Me" (1986) and "The Three Musketeers" (1993).
