L'ancien roi d'Espagne Juan Carlos s'exprime sur les rumeurs d'une liaison avec la princesse Diana
In his new memoirs, former King Juan Carlos of Spain breaks his silence on rumors of an affair with Lady Diana.
He doesn't mince words. In his memoirs, to be published next November, the former King of Spain, Juan Carlos, 87, responds to speculation about his supposed romance with Lady Di, who died in 1997.
Keeping a low profile since the end of his forty-year reign, marred by several scandals, Juan Carlos took the time to write "Reconciliation," in which he notably evokes the mother of Princes William and Harry, whom he had the opportunity to spend time with from 1986 to 1990, when the princess spent her summer holidays with the Spanish royal family at Marivent Palace, her summer residence in Palma de Mallorca, with her ex-husband Charles III.
While the apparent closeness between them at the time led to rumors of a flirtation, the apparent harmony was merely a facade. According to the Telegraph, which had an advance reading of his memoirs, he describes Lady Di as a person who was "cold, taciturn, and distant, except in the presence of the paparazzi."
This refutes the claims of Lady Colin Campbell, who asserted in the biography "The Real Diana" that Lady Di did everything - including getting closely close to Juan Carlos - to "make Charles jealous", while the latter only had eyes for Camilla Parker Bowles.

In the pages of her biography written with Andrew Morton, Lady Diana, for her part, did not hide her animosity towards Juan Carlos, admitting that she did not feel comfortable in the presence of the monarch with his reputation as a womanizer. "I felt uncomfortable being left alone with him in a room, and I can assure you that nothing happened," she reported.
