Le parquet de New York requiert plus de 11 ans de prison contre P. Diddy

A prosecutor has called for a sentence of more than 11 years for hip-hop star P. Diddy, who was acquitted in July of the most serious charges initially brought against him in a sexual assault case.

Sean Combs, whose real name is Sean Combs, is currently incarcerated and will be given his fate on Friday in the New York court that tried him.

Diddy, 55, was accused of forcing several women—including his girlfriend from 2007 to 2018, singer Cassie—to engage in sex marathons with male prostitutes.

In early July, he was acquitted of the most serious charges of sex trafficking and conspiracy to commit a crime. He was instead found guilty of transporting people for the purpose of prostitution.

In a lengthy 166-page text dated Tuesday, federal prosecutor Jay Clayton justifies the requested sentence by the fact that "his crimes are serious and have led, in several similar cases, to sentences exceeding ten years" of incarceration.

"A significant prison sentence is also necessary in this case because the defendant shows no remorse," he wrote.

Sean Combs "tries to portray decades of abuse as simply the result of mutually toxic relationships. But nothing is 'mutual' in a relationship where one person holds all the power," Jay Clayton adds.

He attached to his arguments an excerpt from a letter sent by the singer Cassie (Casandra Ventura by her real name) to the court: "I hope that your sentencing decision reflects the strength it took for Sean Combs' victims to come forward," she wrote in particular.

The rapper and businessman's defense team last week called for a sentence of no more than 14 months in prison - a length that would allow him to be released before the end of the year, taking into account the time spent in pre-trial detention.
