Le président colombien Petro se dit prêt à "reprendre les armes" face aux menaces de Trump
Colombian President Gustavo Petro, a former guerrilla fighter, said on Monday that he would "take up arms again" in response to threats from his American counterpart Donald Trump, amid rising tensions between the two countries following Saturday's US military operation in Venezuela.
"I swore never to touch a weapon again after the 1989 peace agreement, but for the homeland I will take up arms again," the left-wing Colombian president wrote on X.
"Every soldier in Colombia now has an order: any commander of the public force who prefers the flag of the United States to that of Colombia must immediately withdraw," the leader added.
The Colombian president strongly criticized the Trump administration's military action in the region and accused the United States of abducting Nicolás Maduro "without legal basis." The Venezuelan leader was captured in Caracas on Saturday after Washington bombed the capital.
After telling him on Saturday that he should "watch his ass", Donald Trump on Sunday called his Colombian counterpart a "sick man" who "likes to do cocaine".
Since the beginning of Donald Trump's second term, the two leaders have regularly clashed on issues such as tariffs and immigration policy.
Colombia and the United States are key military and economic allies in the region, but their relations are currently at their lowest point.
Gustavo Petro, the first left-wing president in Colombian history, was a former guerrilla fighter with the M-19, a Marxist nationalist movement that signed a peace agreement. He served as a senator and then mayor of Bogotá.

Ce qui a permis au compte anonyme de retirer pour 436 000 dollars de gains, alors qu’il était environ 8 h 30 au matin du 3 janvier sur la Côte est américaine.
