Les Emirats arabes unis ont directement frappé l'Iran en avril, affirme le Wall Street Journal
The Wall Street Journal reported on Monday that the United Arab Emirates themselves conducted military operations against Iran in April, while only the United States and Israel claim to have participated in the attacks against Tehran.
According to the American daily, which cites anonymous sources, these strikes by the Emirates notably targeted oil installations on Lavan Island, an Iranian territory in the Gulf, in early April.
Following unattributed strikes on these facilities, Iran launched attacks against Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.
AFP was unable to independently verify the Emirati attacks, the exact time and date of which were not specified.
The country has been the primary target of missiles and drones fired by Iran in response to the Israeli-American offensive against the Islamic Republic launched on February 28.
From the start of the war until May 8, the Gulf country was targeted by more than 551 ballistic missiles, 29 cruise missiles and 2,263 drones, according to the Emirati Ministry of Defense.
These attacks targeted American bases and energy infrastructure, but also buildings and hotels, killing 10 civilians.
Despite the very high rate of interception by air defense, these attacks shattered the aura of stability enjoyed by Dubai, the epicenter of business, tourism and investment in the region before the conflict.
The Emirates, close allies of the United States, had thus adopted a firmer tone than the other Gulf countries against Iran.
