Les États-Unis ordonnent au personnel diplomatique non essentiel de quitter le sud de la Turquie
The United States has suspended its consular services in southern Turkey and ordered non-essential diplomatic personnel to leave the region "due to risks to their safety," the U.S. State Department announced in a statement Monday.
"On March 9, 2026, the State Department ordered non-essential U.S. government employees and their family members to leave the Consulate General in Adana due to security risks. (...) The U.S. Consulate in Adana has suspended all consular services," the department stated, on the tenth day of the war between Iran, Israel, and the United States.
"Americans residing in southeastern Turkey are strongly encouraged to leave the region immediately," he added.
Near the American consulate in Adana, located in southern Turkey and close to the Syrian border, is Incirlik Air Base, used by American forces as part of NATO.
Since the start of the war, Iran has launched missiles and drones over a wide area, targeting several countries in the region with the aim of striking American interests.
A missile fired from Iran and heading towards Turkish airspace was destroyed Wednesday by NATO defense systems.
