It has already been more than two weeks since Nicolas Sarkozy went behind bars. The former president was incarcerated at La Santé prison on October 21st, following his conviction in the Libyan trial. The Paris Court of Appeal will examine his request for release, filed by his lawyers, next Monday. In the meantime, the former head of state, who has appealed his conviction, has adopted a strange diet. According to Le Point, Nicolas Sarkozy is reportedly eating nothing but… simple yogurt.
According to the weekly magazine, the former president simply doesn't trust the food brought to him in his cell, due to the hostility of his fellow inmates. So why doesn't he prepare his own meals? "He doesn't know how to cook an egg! And besides, on principle, he refuses to," one of his close associates told Le Point.
A possible release as early as Monday
On October 22nd, Paris Match also reported that the former head of state had "stocked up" on groceries, meaning he had bought extra food. On the shopping list: yogurt, of course, but also tuna in oil. It's doubtful this diet would be approved by nutritionists.
But Nicolas Sarkozy could soon be in for a change of pace. He is scheduled to appear via videoconference Monday morning before the Paris Court of Appeal for his request for release, with a decision expected later that day. France's most famous prisoner could be released immediately if the court approves his request.

L’humiliation est faite donc il sera bientôt libéré et il continuera sa souffrance chez lui, jusqu’à son dernier jour. Ces hommes ont oublié la justice boomerang du Créateur. Sarkozy est entrain de payer pour avoir dit Oui quand il fallait dire Non (Lybie). De la même façon que Kadafi a payé cher pour ses choix qu’il avait sans doute lui même oubliés(Burkina, Pakistan, Liban, etc). C’est un boomerang qui revient toujours. Tout leader doit savoir que le privilège d’être en haut à un prix et des taxes qui vous suivront toute votre vie.
Savez-vous qu'il y a des français qui se cotisent pour envoyer de l'argent à la prison où Sarkozy est incarcéré, pour qu'il ait le nécessaire pour vivre dans de bonnes conditions ?
C'est vous dire que des fanatisés, il y en partout, pas seulement à l'APR.
