Specialized teams were then deployed, accompanied by dogs trained to detect explosives. In a statement, United Airlines indicated that law enforcement had searched the aircraft and subsequently cleared it to depart for Chicago without incident in the early afternoon. The flight ultimately experienced a delay of five hours and 33 minutes, according to People.
The airline stated that the diversion of the Boeing 737-700 was carried out to "address a potential security concern." The man who had been reported to the captain by crew members after mentioning a bomb was apprehended and taken into custody.
