Guerre au Moyen-Orient : Le CINPEC maintient le pèlerinage aux Lieux saints de la chrétienté
In a statement released this Friday, the National Interdiocesan Committee for Catholic Pilgrimages (CINPEC) informs the faithful that, despite the crisis situation in the Middle East, the Catholic pilgrimage to the Holy Places of Christendom will be maintained.
"Since the end of February, the Middle East has been engulfed in a dramatic war with disastrous consequences, from which no part of the world has been spared," CINPEC said in the statement.
He also expressed his compassion for the victims of the war while supporting the Holy Father's heartfelt plea and fervent prayer: "May the paths of dialogue be opened again!"
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the Holy Land leg of the pilgrimage, CINPEC intends to maintain the spiritual dimension of the pilgrimage, under the enlightened guidance of the bishops of Senegal. A possible alternative is being discussed with partners.
CINPEC also informs the faithful that the pilgrimage will take place between the last two weeks of August and the first half of September 2026. The dates, itinerary, prices and formalities to be completed will be communicated later.
CINPEC says it entrusts this project and the future pilgrims to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph, her Spouse, while invoking peace in the world.
