Paris: une femme retrouvée morte après une chute de plusieurs étages
A murder investigation has been opened after the body of a woman in her thirties was discovered in the courtyard of a building in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, after she fell several stories from an apartment, according to concordant sources on Thursday.
"No lead is being favored at this stage" and the classification of voluntary homicide "may be re-examined at the end of the investigations (which) will tend to shed light on the circumstances of the fall," the Paris prosecutor's office told AFP.
Another woman, a tenant of an apartment on the 5th floor of this building, explained to the police that she had met a man and a woman the previous day near the Saint-Lazare station and had invited them to her home, a police source said.
She also gave a confused account of having consumed alcohol and drugs, including LSD, with them during the night, the police source said, adding that the victim was found partially undressed.
It was when the man left his apartment around 8:20 a.m. that the body was discovered in the building's inner courtyard, according to the police source.
During the night, around 2:00 AM, police received a call reporting a woman screaming in the building. Officers went to the scene but were unable to determine the source of the screams.
The investigation has been entrusted to the police station of the 18th arrondissement.
