Syrie: six militaires tués dans une frappe israélienne mardi (télévision d'Etat)
Six Syrian soldiers were killed in an Israeli strike near the capital Damascus on Tuesday, Syrian state television reported Wednesday, in a new report on the attack.
Since an Islamist coalition overthrew Bashar al-Assad in December 2024, Israel has carried out hundreds of strikes on the country with which it is technically at war, while initiating dialogue with the new authorities.
"Six members of the Syrian army were killed by drone strikes by the Israeli occupation" which targeted the Kesweh region, west of Damascus, on Tuesday, television reported.
A Defense Ministry official told AFP on Tuesday, speaking on condition of anonymity, that an Israeli drone had targeted one of the military buildings of the Syrian army's 44th division in Kesweh, reporting at least three soldiers killed.
The Israeli army has not confirmed these strikes.
On Tuesday morning, a man was also killed, according to the official Syrian news agency SANA, in an Israeli strike on a house in the village of Tarnaja, on the Syrian Golan Heights (south), part of which is occupied and annexed by Israel.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry condemned the attack.
Last week, the Israeli military announced that it had conducted operations in southern Syria, where it said it had discovered and seized "weapons storage facilities" and "apprehended suspects."
The two countries, enemies for decades, have however begun an unprecedented dialogue under the sponsorship of the United States.
