After insulting his predecessors Joe Biden and Barack Obama in writing and orally, Donald Trump has taken things a step further by having plaques hung at the White House reiterating his grievances against the two Democratic presidents.
The Republican president had already caused a stir by installing under an exterior colonnade leading to the Oval Office a gallery of portraits of former presidents in which the photograph of Joe Biden is replaced by that of a signing machine.
This echoes Donald Trump's claims that his predecessor was senile to the point of no longer being able to govern.
On Wednesday, journalists discovered that plaques had been added beneath the portraits, with biographical summaries.
Those of Joe Biden and Barack Obama are, unsurprisingly, very negative.
The plaque commemorating the first Black president of the United States describes him as "one of the most divisive political figures in history." He is also referred to as "Barack Hussein Obama," a term coined by Donald Trump, who helped amplify conspiracy theories about his predecessor's origins.
Joe Biden is described in these terms: "Sleepy Joe Biden was, by far, the worst president in the history of the United States."
The plaque also repeats the false claim that the 2020 election was stolen from Donald Trump.
As for the current president, his biography is obviously very complimentary.
She claims that he ended eight conflicts in eight months, a figure considered largely imaginary, and that he generated trillions of dollars in investment in the United States, an unverifiable claim.
Since returning to power on January 20, Donald Trump has transformed the White House into a setting to his liking and glory.
In addition to having a gigantic ballroom built, he multiplied the gilded ornaments and hung portraits of himself - going against the custom whereby a president's effigy is not displayed until after he has left power.
