Trump offre une «prime de Noël» aux candidats à l'auto-expulsion

The White House does not hesitate to hijack the holiday season to promote its policy of hunting down illegal immigrants.

"Holiday Special": The Trump administration has increased the voluntary departure bonus for undocumented immigrants in the United States to $3,000, using the holiday season to highlight its fight against illegal immigration. But be warned, the offer is only available for a limited time. "Through the end of the year, take advantage of a $3,000 bonus (up from $1,000 currently) to go home for the holidays," reads the website of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

"Undocumented immigrants who do not take advantage of this special offer today have only one alternative: they will be arrested, deported, and will never be able to return to the United States," adds the department headed by Kristi Noem, a close associate of President Donald Trump.

Self-eviction program

Since returning to power in January, the Republican leader has been waging a vast campaign against illegal immigration, with mass deportations, and has considerably tightened the conditions for entry into the United States and the granting of visas, arguing for the protection of national security.

Since last May, the US government has also implemented a "self-deportation" program, where undocumented immigrants can register on a CPB Home app for voluntary departure in exchange for a $1,000 bonus, with return travel expenses paid. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) posted a video online showing an agent dressed as Santa Claus and wearing a red bulletproof vest.

Racial profiling

We then see him stop an individual and record him, all to the sound of upbeat music, followed by an image of a plane on the tarmac. And the message: "Avoid ICE AIR and Santa's naughty list." ICE, which its critics accuse of abusive arrests, including racial profiling, has been tasked with deporting an unprecedented number of undocumented immigrants from the United States and is spending lavishly to achieve this.

In a statement dated December 19, the Department of Homeland Security also praised recent arrests of "illegal criminals," providing photographic evidence, and "thanked law enforcement for the greatest Christmas gift for American families: safer communities." The State Department, responsible for American diplomacy, also expressed its appreciation.

On Monday, he posted a screenshot on X showing Fox News reporting that "95,000 visa revocations" had been issued since the beginning of the year, including 8,000 for foreign students. "Merry (early) Christmas!" he said.
