It's a curious way to dismantle a drug trafficking network. Police in Lancashire, a county in northern England, managed to arrest a group of drug traffickers in early August, thanks to the network leader's parrot, according to a statement released by the police.
Adam Garnett, 35, was already serving a 15-year prison sentence for drug trafficking. Although he was arrested alone at the time, authorities suspected the 35-year-old of being part of a vast drug network and continued their investigation after his imprisonment. A search of his cell allowed investigators to make significant progress in dismantling the network.
Investigators aided by suspect's parrot
Police seized several cell phones and Wi-Fi routers. The phones contained several videos, including some featuring Adam Garnett's parrot. The pet, named Mango and kept by his girlfriend, provided several revelations to law enforcement.

These videos allowed investigators to dismantle the network, which was led by Adam Garnett. All members of the group, approximately fifteen people, were arrested. Searches of each individual's home allowed police to recover drugs and large sums of cash. According to local authorities, this gang was active in Blackpool, a coastal town in Lancashire.
The ringleader's prison sentence was increased by 19 years, while his girlfriend, Shannon Hilton, received a 12-year prison sentence.
