"Un viol par surprise": sept ans de prison requis contre le rappeur Naps
"They are trying to make you believe that it is a case of one person's word against another's," but "numerous objective elements" in the complainant's statements, which "never varied" in her account, prove a "rape by surprise," said Advocate General Sarah Cadeillan before the Paris Criminal Court on the last day of the rapper's trial.
The day before, the artist strongly denied raping the 24-year-old woman: "It would never in my life occur to me to have relations with a sleeping person (...) it's impossible," the rapper, now 40 years old, defended himself. "It wasn't me."
The public prosecutor also pointed out the lack of "self-reflection" from the accused in his submissions.
"Even if she is inert, a young girl cannot resist him, cannot say no to him," she lamented, "because if she is there, in that hotel room, when he is known, when she has sat on his lap, then (it means that she) agrees."
"Saying nothing is not consenting, not moving is not consenting," she also added.
In the early morning of October 2021, the young woman was invited with two friends from that time to spend the end of the evening in a hotel room with the rapper, then aged 35.
She claims that she was subsequently "awakened by penetration" during her sleep by Nabil Boukhobza, who maintained throughout his trial, which began on Monday, that it was a consensual relationship.
Known for his hit song "La Kiffance", the Marseillais was also charged in July 2024 in the Var region with rape and sexual assault following complaints from three young women, accusations which he also denies.
The verdict is expected this Thursday.
