Royaume-Uni : Un candidat passe le Code de la route pour la 128e fois... et échoue encore

After spending the equivalent of 3,000 euros, a British man took the theory test for his driving licence for the 128th time… and failed again.

He never gave up. This year in the UK, a candidate took the theory test for his driver's license for the 128th time… without success. This perseverance has already cost him dearly. As reported by The Independent, each attempt costs £23 (€26). He has therefore spent £2,944, or approximately €3,330.

The figures were recently released by AA Driving School, a British company with numerous franchises. During this year, another candidate stood out, quite unintentionally. He passed his theory test on his 75th attempt! For him, the total cost amounted to nearly €2,000.

Prepare well

This test is the equivalent of the French driving theory test. Candidates must answer multiple-choice questions that assess their knowledge and understanding of traffic rules and safe driving practices. If they fail this theory test, they cannot proceed to the practical driving test.

Quoted by our colleagues, the director of the AA Driving School insists that the test should not be taken lightly. "It's very easy to underestimate the level of knowledge required to pass the theory exam," she says, before emphasizing the importance of revision: "The key to success is preparation."

In 2021, a British man made headlines by failing his driving theory test 157 times. This 42-year-old spent approximately £3,600 (€4,000) before finally passing on his 158th attempt. Proof that anything is possible!

Non, ce n’est pas une preuve que tout est possible.
C’est une preuve que s’acharner est souvent une manière d’éviter d’apprendre à se connaître.
Nous ne sommes pas tous faits pour faire les mêmes choses.
