The financial prosecutor's office announced, in a press release dated June 1, 2026, the opening of a judicial investigation in the case relating to the acquisition of electronic bracelets, a public contract whose total amount is estimated at 11.178 billion CFA francs.
According to the press release, the investigation was opened on October 24, 2024 and concerned two public contracts signed respectively on October 22, 2020 and July 6, 2023. The investigations carried out by the competent services have revealed several irregularities related to both the awarding and the execution of these contracts.
Given the seriousness of the facts uncovered, the financial public prosecutor indicates that he has referred the matter to the 3rd investigating chamber of the Financial Judicial Pool (PJF) in order to further investigate within the framework of a judicial inquiry.
The offenses targeted in this procedure are particularly serious. They include, in particular, criminal conspiracy, embezzlement of public funds, fraud involving public funds, forgery and use of forged documents, as well as money laundering.
